Library Card – Breakfast of Champions
Emre Karayalçın’s drums open “Breakfast of Champions” through the studio intercom, thin and boxed-in, before the rest of Library Card snap into the room. From there it’s nervy post-punk: Mitchell Quitz’s guitar keeps twitching, Kat Kalkman’s bass holds the whole thing tight, and Lot van Teylingen sells every line like a pep talk that’s about to go wrong. It’s the latest look at their debut album Peeling An Orange In Just One Go, out November 6 on AT EASE.
Anxious and funny at the same time, which is harder to pull off than it sounds. Same target as Out of Context (W17), just sharper.
